Who nows what the next lead is. Most of this shortcomings apply to the NL4 as well. :)

***** Ability to choose MIDI and output setting per performance. This is the only multitimbral synth I've ever had where this is set globally.
***** Same with vibrato.
***** EFX blend knob
- Dedicated fade envelope for the morph buttons.
- Wavetable scanning (pulse width for wavetables)
***** Either a return to the NL3 LED rings around the knobs, OR a pass-through mode on the knobs
***** Patch / performance names rather than numbers (meaning: bigger screen)
- Rack / tabletop version
- stereo outs for each layer (8 outs total)
- second filter?
- more than one destination available for each LFO

It's interesting to see that the A1 based synth in the new Nord Stage 3 both has sample playback and a nice big screen. Hopefully they will follow up on this in a new Lead. :)

Hopefully Clavia will have a Rack/Desktop model option of the Nord Lead 5 whenever it is released. I really have no more space for additional keyboards.

Same applies if they release a NL A2 , or any other new Synth Model.

do you think would it be likely to see a a2 or l5 next year?
personally it would make sense to push the a2 thanks to the gained knowhow on the stage3.
imagine an a2 with oled display, 61 keys, superwaves and who knows what more

to put it bluntly i would be happy to wait for an a2 but might need to consider a stage3 otherwise

The strength of the Nord lies in the immediacy and knobbyness.
I'd add the option of patch renaming by an internet browser page and wi-fi connection.
I'd love more voices and more modulatable waveforms for easier cheesy supersaw creations.
I'd love stealing the best bits from the Pro 2, like give us another envelope freely assignable.
Aftertouch is must.

A NL4 with:

Sample !
Rack !
Normal screen to see the name of the patches and samples
This would be enough to replace my NL4R !

But if possible :
- Chorus ensemble from the A1
- Detune of the OSC1
- More LFO and Mod Env destinations
- A third LFO
- A second filter
- EQ !
- More polyphonie
- No Midi channel limitation for the thru mdi out (only 1 channel can pass with the NL4)
- OSC String from the G2
- A smal sequencer (like Prophet 6 would be enough)
- External power if needed to make all this match in a rack !

For the keyboard :
- 61 keys
- Aftertouch !!!

OR... A G3 with sample and filters of the NL4 (no other comments) !
