Nord Lead 4 Multitimbrality

Postby Mrtitou » 01 Jun 2016, 09:07

Hello everyone, i purchased a nord lead 4 ( my first hardware synth! ) and i would like to know how the layering part of the synth work. I really like this feature and its actually the main reason why i bought this synth ( tired of the mouse). I would like to set up this synth in ableton and use the synth in different tracks or in an instrument rack to be able to separate the different layers and process them individually ( eq,comp..ect).The manual briefly mentioned " If you want to use the Nord Lead 4 as four independent synthesizers controlled via MIDI, this is achieved by setting MIDI Channels for the individuals slots, in the midi menu. I don't understand most of the menus, especially the "midi" one! It is probably obvious but i have no ideas how to set this up  !
Thank you.
( excuse my english! )

You have four synths in one -- Slots A, B, C and D. Set each Slot to a different midi channel and you will have independent access to each one from within Ableton. You might benefit from seeking a generic online reference on the subject of MIDI...

Thank you for the replies. I am at a high level of stupidity... it was in the manual...in front of my face for about 5 hours  . sorry to have wasted your time!

:thanks:

don't be too hard on yourself -- there is not one among us who has not had similar moments (even when sober!)
