It's under the slow-blow category for Radioshack's fuses, so I think it's okay in that regard. What about the size (or at least I believe that's what 6x30mm is referring to)? Does anyone know if this is the correct size? I notice some variation in the different fuses' dimensions.

The rating is okay (for 115v) and it seems to be in the slow-blow fuse category, but I'm not sure about the dimensions. I just measured the fuse in my Nord Lead 3 and that is 5x20 mm, not 6x30 mm. Maybe the 2X has a different fuse holder. Should be easy enough to measure with the existing fuse.

Ah yes it is. Sorry I did not see the tree category above.

What puzzles me is that they bothered opening the synth and soldering that ugly jumper, when stuffing aluminium foil into the hole would have been just as effective (and just as clean)... ;-)

I understood that they might have lost the fuse holder too (so I guess it wasn't a new instrument).
In any case (foil or not) that is an extremely silly and dangerous thing to do in your own instrument, but it is additionally dishonest (and perhaps illegal) selling it like that to somebody else.

Hello again.
Sad News. The 2x have the same problems as I mentioned in the beginning. Strangely it was ok for some month. I used it on several gigs and it was okay. Now i`ve started to use it for Layer-Sounds and with midi and some more intense use.
It suddenly restarts/reboots sometimes and the problem appears much more often when I use a sequenzer to send midi to a percussion-set. Sometimes i have to wait some seconds until it works again.

:(

I wonder if they used that Nord as a source for spare parts. Took something (working) out every time they needed to repair another Nord Lead 2X. That might have been cheaper for them then to have an authorized repaircenter fix it, especially if they imported them without going through the local distributor.

If there are issues in the power supply (the resetting might be caused by this) it might be repairable, but if the main circuit board has issues, I'm not so sure they could be repaired. Lots of surface mounted components (and no schematics) make diagnosing and repairing those (for a non-authorized repaircenter) difficult/expensive to impossible.

You may have already tried, but I'd try contacting the seller and demand a repair (or your money back). I'd also contact Clavia about this. I wouldn't be surprised nothing will come of this though; in the case of Clavia because you bought it from a (potentially) dubious source. But this is, of course, pure speculation on my side.

If you can´t get it fixed, checking the power supply to see if it puts of clean power at the right levels would be a good step I think, but unless you have the equipment and know what to do, this is really not something you can do yourself. If you had a friend with an oscilloscope who knows how to use it, he might be able to help you with this.

Btw. are you sure this is not caused by the power in your house? Could you test it in someone else´s house, for example?

Two more things, trying to guess...
1. How stable is the current where you live?
2. I wonder if when they opened it to do the fuse surgery trick :( they moved some connectors and now they are not making a robust contact.
Since it worked OK for a month, it could be that when you opened it a connector was moved again, but this is just pure guessing on my part.
Hope you get it resolved!

Hey thanks for the answer.
I am an electronics engineer. When I cut the wire which was soldered under the fuse holder i measured the voltage from the power board. Everything seemed okay. I live in Germany and we have very stable power conditions.
The problem is that i bought the nl 2x from a company in Malaysia as a new old-stock. I had a nice contact person there and so i believed everything will be fine.
I paid and waited for nearly 3 month and then the nl 2x arrived with the issues.
I hate myself that I did that deal because i even didn't save a lot of money.
By the way: I got to know the Malaysian Company by an advertisment in this forum so be careful!!!
Now I will try to open it again and check the connections.

Update: I opened the nl 2x pulled out every connection and put them back. I measured the power board again.
Everythings fine. I closed the red hood and powered it on.
In the last 20 Minutes it runs without problems.
The connections seems solid and the boards are looking new and the screws seems unused except the screws which fits the power board.
2. Question is: why is the Nl 2x working for a period of time and than it starts to reboot every once in a while?
It never happens by itself it always happens after a button is pressed or a key is hit or a midi message is send to the nl 2x.
Once the issue appeared the problem starts to occur more and more often until it cannot restart anymore and when I power it on there is just a 0 in the display.
My theory:
Perhaps there is a kind of voltage that prevents some components to work proper. And this voltage stays/is stored more and more in the part until i pull off the cables inside of the nl 2x. And it's not enough to pull out the main power cable!
