This website http://ctrlr.org/ seems also promising in this direction for use with the Nord Lead/Rack, also supports OSX (see this thread, which should be easily adjustable to the Nord Lead as well!)

In fact, there is already a Device Created for the Nord Lead:

available for Linux/Win/OS X.

Hi, i have the rekon nord lead 2 editor. The idea of saving the patches in the computer and automation like a vst were the biggest reasons of me buying it. But i can not use it... I bought it a year ago and a couple of months ago i stopped trying to use it. I can only tweak the knobs with the editor, but can not get any sound. Without the editor, everything is fine, but when i open the editor like described, i can not get any sound from the synth to record in my daw. Maybe i am doing something wrong (i m not a computer engineer, i just try to make some music) so i emailed the guy several times about setting up the editor in my daw (ableton) but the support really really SUCKS... I searched the web about this issue for months but all i saw that, i was the only one in this planet, trying to use this editor :P So, at last i quitted trying... Buying this editor was the biggest waste of money in my studio...
So, if someone here has the editor, and able to use it, i really would like to know him or her :)
Cheers
Aytac

The only thing I can advice you right now is to check if the synth's Global Midi channel is set to 16.

Hi All,
I made a M4L patch editor, it doesnt have sysex support, but it does allow you do some extra stuff like add step sequencers and lfos to any parameter and save them on the computer. It does require Ableton Live however.

What i am wondering, is anyone interested in having me do a Max.Msp runtime patch of the same device? That way you are not required to use Ableton Live to use the patcher. If so let me know, cause if there is enough interest then i will do it.

Make sure you deactivate the MIDI channels in your daw and do not connect the NORD itself to a midi channel in device map of your DAW (cubase is what I use). Make sure the right midi channels are set in the VST. These should be the midi channels your Nord is hooked up on.

Also open the VST first in your DAW
Next also open your hardware (in cubase make an instrument channel, or press F11, go to external instrument, Nord, no need for a midi channel).
You have to remember since you have the VST does not mean the sound is there! You need the audio from your hardware and therefore a channel for the sound to come out! In other words, just opening the VST in your DAW results in NO sound!

If you have it set up right, it should work. I use the Mopho from these guys, unfortunately, since I moved to Cubase 6.5.4 the VST does not work anymore. I get a grey VST. Stand alone works fine of course.

If all fails, I found an device map online for the Nord (own it as well), the only disadvantage is that it does not remember the preset/settings etc. It's great for drawing in automation quick, instead of trying to find the right CC.
