Nord Lead 2 Help Please - Init, Automation, Librarian, etc
Nord Lead 2 Help Please - Init, Automation, Librarian, etc
The Nord Lead 2 is my first hardware synth and I love it. I'm still trying to get my head around some basic things though and could very much use some help to make things easier to help incorporate this awesome new kit into my workflow.
For starters
1. Is there an init button?
2. How can I use my daw to automate the hardware?
3. Are there any good, hopefully free, librarians that would allow me patch recall, preset/bank saving and loading, and allow host automation?
4. I'm thinking of making a commercials soundset at some point, how do I save banks?
5. Where can I find external patches to use for the Nord Lead 2 and how do I load them?
6. Can I load any sysex patch in Nord 2, can I load any Discovery Pro vsti patch in Nord 2, if so, how?
Thats it for now. This is a great forum and much thanks in advance

Hej Tjgoa!
Many questions ...
1. No. Making a new patch from scratch? I would activate only slot A and then go Shift-Manual. Then all knobs/switches are "connectad" to the sound engine as is.
Now ,,, start tweaking!

2. You can send notes on/off, program change etc from your DAW. First you need to spend some time with the manual ...

Finally: you need to spend time with your Nord Lead. Read the manual!
It will grow on you and you will love it.
I have had Nord Leads for several years .. still I know nothing. They can do so much!
(I always use an external multi effect with my NL2X & NL4. Gives me more of a "vintage vibe". But the NLA1 has excellent internal FX for an old guy like me.)
Happy tweaking!
