Nord's classical Virtual Analog Synth Nord LEAD 1/2/2x/3/4/A1 and Nord Rack versions

NLA1: new patches :-)

Postby Marlowes » 29 Sep 2014, 15:45

Hej!

This A1 Bank from Clavia employee Kristofer "Kroffe" Ulfves is much inspired by classic analogue synthesizers, electric pianos and string machines. In these 99 programs and 100 performances he has tried to capture the vintage sound sweetspots of the Nord Lead A1.

thanks for the tip Marlowe, (and many thanks to Kristofer "Kroffe" Ulfves!) great sounds!

(if you want to edit your post, this sound bank is for Lead4 too...) ;)

Hi AinTziLLo,

The webpage resulting from the link also displays programming work Kroffe did previously for the NL4, but it is not correct to think that progams for NL4 and NA1 are interchangeable.

ok Pablo, the programs and performances are not interchangeable between NLA1 and NL4.

I had thought that the links below are the version for NL4.
How did you understand that they are old works of Kroffe for NL4?

Just looked at the programs/performances. They have put some prg/perf for the Lead 4 on the A1 page.

http://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-libr ... roffe-bank

However after I loaded the A1 programs bundle 1 and bundle 2 into my lead but they appear to be identical...

Anyone else see this?

No, what I could see they were all different in my NLA1. :?

The NL4 stuff? I guess the web designer was in a too big hurry and copied without cleaning up? ;)

Reloaded, they're ok.

Funny I was hoping to find some "standard" vintage patches like all-round pads, some strings, voices and well known lead sounds but the vast majority seem to be pretty useless sounds that show programming mastery but little musical purpose.

Pretty much along the lines of all the other patches available.

I wished someone at Nord (or outside) would take a good listen to pink floyd, rush, journey, heart, genesis, steve winwood and other classic rock acts and replicate the main synth sounds used instead of programming farts, squeaks, burps or general white noise that have pretty low vintage musical value.

From the Nord site:

"This A1 Bank from Clavia employee Kristofer "Kroffe" Ulfves is much inspired by classic analogue synthesizers, electric pianos and string machines. In these 99 programs and 100 performances he has tried to capture the vintage sound sweetspots of the Nord Lead A1."

Where are they???

I don't want to sound ungrateful, I know they're free so I shouldn't complain but since the guy must have spent company time and money to program the patches why not program something that has general purpose rather than to just show off the extreme sounds the Lead A1 is capable of? I mean it's supposed to be a musical instrument in the end, to make MUSIC.

Just saying...

What do you think?
