Hello all!
I'm finally the proud owner of a NL3 Rack, very chuffed, but after a couple of hours last night the face panel was getting very hot. I fear it would have got even hotter if been on longer. It's generating from above the area where the power lead is connected.
Does it normally run hot like that, or am I facing a possible imminent repair?
Many thanks

I have seen NL3 and NR3 run hot. Not sure that they all do, but those power supplies to have to put out more power than most other Nords, so it should be expected that they would run hotter. Be sure that your rack installation provides open space around the ventilation perforations in the chassis. A fan would not be a bad idea if that space is enclosed with lots of other heat-producing devices.

Hello Malenko,
i had the same probs with my Lead3, now i use a little USB-fan aiming in display-direction.
I never had malfunctions, but i was also scared that the heat could hurt my Lead3. Especially when it's over 30 degrees in my room at summertime.
best regards, Mike

Re: Lead Rack 3 getting hot, is this normal?
I got both the keyboard and the rack version of Nord Lead 3, the keyboard have no problems with getting warm but the rack version can get so hot that the internal data goes fubar when you touch a knob or dial in something. I think it takes my rack version about 4 hours to get this hot. So the more air you can provide to the unit the better because it WILL get hot.
