Haven't tried it myself...but did you try adding a second slot with the same patch an octave (or 2) down? Sometimes adding that lower octave will get you the bite/growl/grit you need. And you can always tweak the 2nd slot to make things even more dirty against the 1st slot.

EDIT: I sat down and programmed this into my A1. Try changing the waveform on the second slot (which should still be an octave lower than the first slot) to A6 or A7, then crank up the FX Drive knob.

thanks!

you mean copy the same parameters into a second slot and just change the waveform to a6 or a7? I did that but i just get a fuzzy sound no sub at all...

Did you copy the parameters and then play both slots together? I get the original sound + an added octave lower with more buzz and edge.

If you're looking for a true sine-wave sub sound, then you'll need to switch to a sine or triangle waveform. But keep in mind you're talking about two different things. Sine/triangle waves are not going to sound very 'gritty'. (And distortion FX often don't add much to a sine wave source.) Gritty sounds won't have that pure low-end sub throb. That's why I'm suggesting that you layer things to get everything you want: Midrange + octave lower grit + sub sine

Also: If you have the right sounds in each slot, but the sub still seems weak...try turning down the individual volumes of the first two slots (mid-range & octave down bite), turn UP the sub/sine slot to full volume, then crank the A1 master volume. That will raise the overall levels, and adjust the balance between slots to be sub-heavy.
