Demo Nord Lead A1 vs DSI Mopho x4

Post by Puukka »

Currently I have a DSI Mopho x4 on trial. Since it has the same oscillators and filters as the Prophets, it´s quite interesting to test their qualities.

Interestingly again, there seem to be almost no difference in sound but the amplitude shape is weird as the one of the Gaia.
Seems Nord is cleaner than the analogs that way?

Filter Test

1 - LP12 low resonance
2 - LP12 high resonance
3 - LP24 low resonance
4 - LP24 high resonance
5 - LP M high resonance via LP24 high resonance
Kind regards,
Herbert

Thanks you for doing these tests, it's an interesting subject. I'm downloading all the files now.
I'd love to hear what happens when you combine oscillators. I know there was speculation that this was something the Nord A-1 did well, that the sound of the combined oscillators is very pleasant. I wonder if there really are differences between the way VAs handle this sort of thing (the Roland vs the Nord) and if the sound is markedly different from the combined DCOs in the DSI?
Just a suggestion, and thanks again for these files.

Thanks for your feedback!
Yes, you are right, that would be interesting, currently I only have the Minilogue at home for a trial.
I just finished the oscillator and filter test as usual.
