This is my new custom Nord Electro 3 setup. I built a wooden box, had my friend Chris Lawrence (LA pedal steel/guitarist) dress up and engineer the electronics and whatnot. The keyboard also has an LED light strip inside the box that is controlled by the cream colored box on top of the Nord. The cord snake is wrapped around the stand which can be spun around very fast several times (3 or 4) before having to spin back around. The bottom lever on the stand engages the hydraulic to raise or lower the keyboard (like a barber chair). Everything comes apart as well and fits very snug together thanks to Chris Lawrence and his attention to detail. The red pictures of the cables show the inside of the box and the basic connections. The logo I made up and had cut out of steel and chromed. It is screwed into the box.
Hope this doesn't upset too many of the purists!
This is used only in my new MerseyBeat band The Outta Sites. In performance I can tap the box to activate the changing lights in the box, spin it around, and play it backwards.
I have a Stage 2 that is my main workhorse and it stays original, but this board was begging to be customized!

Really cool! Seems to be very well engineered too!
NE3HP, NP88, NS2, DPP1, NL2X, NL2X, NLA1, NL4, NE5D, NW2 (Collect Them All?), some classic Rolands, Arturias, a Waldorf, a Kurz, a WONOK3, a pile of guitars, a P-bass, loopers, amps and computers ...

Re: The Mongoose keyboard (Electro 3)
Thank you for the nice words! I couldn't be more happy with how it came out. It was engineered to be very heavy duty and hopefully last as long as possible especially in the electronics department.
I did get the keyboard from Doepfer, courtesy of the forum user Kagamul and Hanon_CTS who turned me onto the company and correct keybed (thank you soooo much for the info). The only thing about the keybed is that it took almost a year for me to get it. I ordered it through Analogue Haven and it took them a very long time to receive and they received it in late Dec. and they didn't get around to informing me till late February. Keybed was installed by Audio Rehab in Burbank and it they did a fantastic job in a few days.
Was worth the wait though - this thing looks like a snake killer!

Re: The Mongoose keyboard (Electro 3)
I presume it's called the Mongoose as you're clearly "As mad as a mongoose".
Simply wonderful! Beats the heck out of sitting quietly at the side of the stage being ignored. Hopefully you'll post some pictures of this beast in action at some point?

Re: The Mongoose keyboard (Electro 3)
Hah! A video it is! This is a short compilation of my band but it doesn't have the spinning light stuff going on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1P9Y6WZ ... 49&index=2
I'll get a video of me switching the lights on and spinning it around playing it backwards soon!
Thanks for all the support and kind words!
