Simply wonderful! Beats the heck out of sitting quietly at the side of the stage being ignored. Hopefully you'll post some pictures of this beast in action at some point?

Thank you! I agree. I'm really not the "keyboard wizard" that sits surrounded by armies of keyboards. I like being obnoxious and nutty on stage!

Where is the power cable coming into the box?
In one of the photos there is metal plate with 3 connectors. What are those?

Nice, now you are obliged to make a demo of it spining, going up/down and doing fancy light stuff.

BTW are teh connections XLR for left/right and a PowerConconnector for power? How do you even power it? I remember that those things were made to connect to power amplifiers

I'm not the engineer of the electronics so I'm guessing here but the cord connections are: one for the three foot pedals, one for the power cord (for interior LED lights and keyboard), and one for the output. The connectors are xlr cables, with the power one being a special connector in the center (the power adapter is locked down near the cream colored box that controls the lights) They all lock into place so they can't be jerked out from spinning the keyboard. The cable that leaves the foot pedal contains two cables - a heavy duty power plug and the 1/4" output. The snake splits (outside the picture) for the power and output to go to their respective locations.

I'm running mono and I'm currently running this through a 62' Fender Bandmaster Amp. It is gritty, dirty and powerful for the organs - really gives it that early 60's sound. I'll probably get a Vox AC30 to use as my amp eventually.

For my honky-tonk, country, and jump blues gigs I use my NS 2 through a EV 12' Live X powered PA speaker.

Interesting. That means that he used the XLR three prongs each for a pedal, then one XLR for audio only (as expected, mono). And the weird one that looks like a Neutrik plug provides power that goes to a small box that separates that into the keyboard and the light control.

Also, do you use a single EV 12' for the NS2? does it please you, can it reproduce Pianos well? I've been saving up and now have the money to buy only one and eventually its pair. But I have yet to find one locally to try it out...

Gustavo, I think the EV 12 is fantastic. It reproduces pianos and organs very well. Everything sounds good through it - in addition to the NS2 I play a guitar, a mandolin and a theremin through it and it captures a lot of detail AND it is very light weight.

I use only one because I play so many shows and live on a Los Angeles hillside 21 stairs below my parking structure. Plus the bands I usually perform with play quite loud and, depending on the venue and if it is a big show with a big artist, I can go through the PA via the xlr output on the speaker, or they supply backlines that are more than sufficient. I really have nothing bad to say about the speaker but would suggest finding a cover for it. I use a zippered cover that is easy to get on and off of the speaker and it really keeps it clean looking. One speaker works for the styles and venues I play - honky tonk, rockabilly, country boogie, and jump blues. But if you had two of these and a subwoofer - it would be phenomenal.

By the way I've owned an RD700NX, Yamaha CP33, a Korg SV-1 and several other earlier digital pianos/keyboards and the NS 2 is my favorite. The are lots of good things about the other keyboards but the Nord has more parts in the "survival kit" of a working keyboardist in my opinion.

So is the XLR -like socket for the mains? I am not sure I would have made that choice. Does that mean that the plug has the live pins visible?

It looks from one of the photos that the middle connector (from the inside of the box) has at least one of the contacts visible? It would be a good idea to insulate all those connections by some means. You do not want to have even a remote chance of something metal touching the contacts, no matter how unlikely that is might be as it could end in a fried instrument and/or a nasty shock.

In any case the whole contraption looks really great. How much can you adjust the height with that pedal/handle?

One of the XLRs is for the output, the other is for the three foot pedals and the middle connector is for the power supply. Not sure what you mean Mr_-G- about exposed pins visible other than to say what you see in the picture is what it is. I'm sorry I don't know more about which is which. As far as exposed connections I'll check with the "engineer." He's pretty thorough though so I can't imagine he'd ignore a problem such as that but I'll definitely check with him. As far as the sound and efficiency of set up it has been fantastic. I've played 7 shows and been quite aggressive with the setup and it hasn't wavered in the least.

As far as stand elevation, from the top of the stand it is 31" and goes up to 38" when pumping the foot lever. And it spins very well too. The handle on the keyboard case allows you to lean the whole setup forward for effect, and to carry it when it gets unscrewed from stand.

Thanks for the nice comments and suggestions!
