Sustain Pedal Sqeak

Postby pauleway » 22 Apr 2017, 03:49

I have a Yamaha FC-3 sustain pedal that makes a loud sqeaking noise when pressed up and down. :wtf:  Are there any tips out there to help me solve this problem.
I do not want to make it any worse, or ruin it by doing the wrong thing. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, but with what? I don't want to squirt something in there and maybe ruin the pedal. DW40 - Silicone maybe?

Some WD40 (just a little) will not hurt.

Bettter is silicone grease. Non-conductive and suitable for to plastics.

You are right, that's much better (I thought the OP had only WD40, since it was mentioned, at hand so I suggested a try, in very small quantity and on the coil/metal parts only)

WD-40 evaporates and won't last. Silicon would be my choice.
