I've been pinged so many times by folks trying to dial this amp in, that I decided to write a blog post on my experiences so far.

Just an update for anyone that's interested?

Now that I've figured out how to dial in this amp, I"m dangerous. For example, I played a small stage gig last night. Vocals only through our modest PA. I had a great muso spy in the audience, and her feedback was simple: the keys sounded amazing everywhere: close to the stage, back of the room, outside, etc.

Mission accomplished.

Chuck...thinking about getting the SS3. Curious on how hard panned signals might sound through it...say a two voice synth patch with one voice 100% panned right and the other 100% panned left. Also...do you think if Nord released a wider panned acoustic piano it would sound better in the SS3 due to increased stereo content? I've wondered before if Nord makes panning adjustments compared to the actual mic positions when it moves piano samples into .npno files...both across the keyboard and maybe even within each note. I know the new Royal Grand accomplished this naturally to some extent the way it was recorded....that may be why it appears to sound better through the SS3?

I used the sub out of my SSv3 into the direct box (stereo output of my NE4D into the SSv3). It seemed to work fine and gave me stereo monitoring on stage but mono in the house. In my limited experience I agree on all points above including good results with the Royal 3D. If anything sounds flat I just add some chorus. I don't have time to try at the moment but I bet hard-panned sounds will come out the side speaker and not the front.

Only sound common to both channels comes through the main 8" speaker. Sound present in only one channel comes through the 6" side-firing speaker. So, for example, a ping-pong delay effect (no reverb) would come solely through the side-firing speaker.

To Al and others, I appreciate all the commentary about the SpaceStation.
I have used it now with the an amp stand for two gigs, and once I figured out out to set it
on the suggested amp stand (horizontally so that side speaker is at an angle at the floor) I am very happy with the amp for the first time!
I also took the suggestions for using the mid EQ and the Royal piano sample.
Thank you!

I am using the same setup, compact and it sounds great! I painted my Spacestation grill black. I use my guitar through it as well and it sounds great for guitar as well. The Spacestation is one killer little combo amp-

I have an older Ashly LM308. And a Pro|cussion too!
Could you share what brand/model stand you are using to hold all that weight?
