sound manager/export sound lists

Postby jorr92 » 24 Jun 2012, 16:26

Why can't I export sound lists from sound manager. The command is greyed out which the manual states is because that function is not available with certain models. I have an Electro 3. I don't understand how that would have any bearing on exporting an .html file to my computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim.

That's #2 on my wish list. #1 is to just SEE the patch settings. Sound Manager does not need to be an editor, nor do I have to see real-time changes; I just want to know what the parameter settings are for the current saved patches. I have EQ settings that I cannot always replicate, and want to know what they are for future reference.

But I agree. I would like to export the patch and sample lists to a text or PDF file.

So, I am correct in that, the sound manager will not export sound lists? I really can't understand why. Seems like a very basic function. Oh well, still love Nord products, I can deal with the quirks!!

Thanks Mike

I just wanted to share with everybody that I just found out about Sound Lists. Currently it is a nice feature in the Nord Sound Manager which exports an .html of all the sounds you have. I find that to be extremly useful to share, say, the list of samples I use, or if I want to do backups, instead of using up a lot of space and time, I just get the list to remember which samples I have.

You find the feature under File>Export Sound List. It makes 4 HTMLs: Piano, Program, Synth and Sample. For example, I have put a .zip with the lists generated. The program does not zip them, i had to since the forum will not allow attaching .html files

I was trying to get all factory stuff back up, since I erased everything and just had my own, but I wanted to try out all of them presets. Which I previously could not due to the fact that I erased the samples, but I wanted to remember which samples I had. Since there is no way to load massively samples besides a full backup, I needed to do a list of those, but as I browsed the Sound Manager I noticed the Sound Lists feature, tried it out and turned out to be just what I wanted.

sound manager/export sound lists

Yes it would be a very nice feature except that it doesnt work with the Electro and I'm not sure why it doesn't .

It's grayed out on my E3 also. I was thinking that I overlooked something, that there MUST be a way to export sound/preset/ sample lists. Apparently, not so.

A clunky workaround that I used is to do screen captures of each individual screen, then paste them into a word processing document like MS Word. The print is small to read, so zooming in works ok. Clunky, but at least it's something :)

Each operating system has it's own method of doing screen captures, and there's info readily available on the internet.

That's a great idea, I was also thinking of taking a pic with my iPad and having it there!
