Press "SHIFT" and "TRANSPOSE" (="KB SPLIT") simultaneously with one hand and with the other hand turn the knob "LIST/VALUE" (="PROG/MENU"). The Display shows the amount of transposed keys.

Transpose transchmoze. You're a KEYBOARDIST. You should be at home in every key, major and minor. Let the guitarists whine how songs in Ab hurt their hands. You just smile and play whatever key is asked. Play all your scales every day, with both hands - it will become second nature.

Once upon a time, there were no acoustic pianos - only harpsichords without that modernistic 'Velocity sensitivity'. The manual is confusing. It took asking a question here for me to figure out how to transpose. There's a button that says TRANSPOSE below it and KB SPLIT above it. There's also a SHIFT button below and to the right in that section of the controls. Press the SHIFT and the TRANSPOSE button, then turn the knob that says PROG/MENU above it and LIST/VALUE below it. That changes the transposition up or down in half steps.

Didn't realize there was a 2nd page and question had been answered.
Some bands like to tune down a half step. Tranpose comes in real handy in those situations, especially if you're not the regular keyboardist. That's why it's there on your electronic keyboard, along with all the other features that aren't on a piano or B3. What's the point of having all those adjustable parameters on a digital keyboard if you're not going to use features that are built in to it for exactly those situations where it's useful? It's like saying you're not going to use delay or distortion or anything else because ... why? It's "cheating"? Then get off the damn keyboard and play a "real" instrument. Oh, and don't ever play those synth strings because those aren't on a real piano either.
But if you paid a premium price for a keyboard with all kinds of advanced features and adjustable parameters and lots of piano samples and a transpose button, if you don't use them to make your performance better because you're some kind of a purist, you're also a fool and should have bought a much less expensive keyboard.
