Hi,

I just became a proud owner of a Nord electro 3 - 73 - and I wanted to do a factory reset to have all the original sounds again.

Updated the OS first to 3.12 because it was on 3.4

Did a restore with the Nord Sound Manager and used the Nord electro 3 factory restore V3.0 revA.neb file.

All sounds are great and work except the sounds in the Sample Library ??!?

I can see all the sounds in the Nord Sound Manager but they don't work on my Nord..no sound at all..sometimes I hear a glitch..that's it..

Deleted all the sounds in the sample library via the Nord Sound Manager and restored all the samples manually but that didn't work either.

Please advise !

Hi Dave,

How are you monitoring the audio output? A single cable connected to amp? It is possible to re-route samples to be sent to the other output, but when you do that, the pianos go with them, so this probably has nothing to do with your problem. Were the samples working normally before you did the OS update? The components responsible for playing pianos and samples are separate chips. Perhaps the one for samples is fried and needs to be replaced. Occasional glitchy audio would be consistent with this diagnosis.

Obviously, the sight unseen, long distance diagnosis may not be 100% accurate...the ultimate diagnosis will best be left to the tech who has it open on her or his bench. If you've only just purchased this, and have possibility of returning it or perhaps getting a partial credit, you'll want to check that quickly...
