Problems with my Electro 3

Postby rfriedman » 24 Mar 2011, 03:16

I was playing at a gig and all of a sudden I lost volume, it faded away to nothing. I switched over the the earphone output and after fiddling a bit more, it came back. I then switch to the regular mono output and all went well.

Most recently I noticed that the organ volume is does not get so loud. The when I toggle over to piano, it is easily twice as loud. I can turn the volume up on the piano to the point of over driving the power amp. I used to be able to do this with the organ setting, but no more.

Any thoughts?

Richard

Just a guess here, but try plugging in an expression pedal and pushing it all the way down while you're using the organ.

I wonder if for some reason, your electro 3 (when set to organ) thinks that the expression pedal is up, thus lowering the volume.

how about the "gain" volume? It sounds like the gain level is set very different on your presets

Try to set type of expression pedal in System Menu. Different manufactures have different impedance curve. If you have wrong type set in NE system menu that could be the reason of low volume.

Ctrl Pedal Type
Different makes of control pedals have different specifications (resistance,
offset and linearity). To simplify setup and to optimize the response of the
pedal for the Nord Electro 3, the most common pedal makes are preconfigured,
and you simply select the type of pedal you connect.
Roland, Yamaha and Fatar are linear control pedals with different scaling
and offset. Ernie Ball pedals (“ErnieB”) are marketed as volume pedals,
with a logarithmic response, but the response is rescaled internally
in the Nord Electro 3 to make them work nicely as control pedals. They
may need a Y-cable (stereo plug -> 2 mono plugs) to work with the
Nord Electro 3.
Range: FA - Fatar, Er - Ernie Ball, YA - Yamaha, rO - Roland
(default)
