Hi there,
This is my first post in the forum, so here goes! I came here because I've been having a problem with the Organ sounds on my Electro 3. For some reason, they end up extremely quiet relative to all the other sounds, and then intermittently it will sort of *crack and then it will be deafeningly loud. Sometimes it will just crack a few times and return to its previous quietness, while other times it will decide to stay at the new super loud volume for some time, or indefinitely until I turn it off. This issue doesn't happen with any of the other sounds, even the ones in the sound bank that can be sustained the same way that the organ can.
If anybody has any clue that would be amazing! I've been so excited about the organ sounds recently, and this is really hampering my ability to perform with it!
Thanks a million!

Re: problem with organ patch
Hmmm .. I've been playing the Electros for a long time, and I've never had that exact problem.
What you *might* be encountering are the "soft" controls around gain, etc. When you invoke a preset, many aspects of volume are pre-defined: drawbar settings, gain, overdrive, etc. Touch the gain or overdrive control even a little bit, and BAM it goes to the physical setting on the control vs. the software-defined level you invoked as part of the present.
Not sure if that's what you're experiencing, but the symptoms would be similar.
The other possible cause would be a dodgy patch cable with an intermittent connection. A bit of vibration, and *crack* you've got full volume, a bit more vibration, and you're back to quiet.
Try a fresh patch cable?

Re: problem with organ patch
Sounds like a problem with an intermittent contact in the sound output, as cphollis suggested.
Have you tried changing the cable?
Have you tried moving the cable while in the connector slightly? (maybe the connectors have a lose contact).
Tried moving the pots all the way up and down?

Re: problem with organ patch
It's me again. It's definitely not a patch cable issue, because I've never had even the tiniest indication of the same problem with any other patches. It's just the organ. For instance, it will become extremely quiet all of a sudden, and then if I switch back to a different patch the other patch is just as loud as it should be. Extremely frustrating! I guess I just need to take it in somewhere or something

Re: problem with organ patch
Hi All
I have exactly the same problem, with the organ sound on my Electro 3 suddenly going quiet, and only when I switch the Nord off does it fix itself for a short time.
Has anyone managed to find out what is causing the problem?
Driving me round the bend! anyone help please!
Regards
Dave

Re: problem with organ patch - ME TOO!!
I have a Stage Classic 88, and I was in the middle of a gig last night when the *exact* same problem occured. It was ALL my organs, any organ-related patches. I even have a split patch, piano lower/organ higher, the piano worked fine and the organ's volume was barely noticeable, although still there (infinitely quieter than the piano). But it was every organ not just some. I rebooted a couple of times during the gig and it came back temporarily, then quit again. Incredibly frustrating. Does anyone have any clue what's up with this?? It can't be just my board, obviously others have had the same experience. Reloaded the factory patches, all seemed fine (maybe coincidentally), then reloaded my latest backup and the same thing happened a short while later.
Can't have this...someone please tell me they've discovered a fix for it. I emailed Clavia and I'm hoping to get a timely repsonse - however since this is an older thread I'm hoping someone out there discovered the issue.
Thank you!
