I have a brand new Electro 5D SW. Everything works exactly as expected when the Output Routing Mode is set to Stereo: both upper and lower parts come out both channels.

When I change to 'PartL: L PartU: R', BOTH parts come out the left channel. Nothing comes out the right channel. I've tried both the audio outputs and the headphones, same result. The NE5 came with v1.32 OS; I upgraded to v1.42, and nothing changed.

Any ideas what is going on here?

Figured it out: I had set the EQ to affect both parts. If I turn off the EQ, or set it to L or U (but not both), everything splits as expected. Is this a 'feature,' or a corner case that no one thought about?
