Hello everyone,
Just bought a Yamaha FC7 pedal to control the rotor but it does not work. I was told to buy a Y cable (convert stereo to mono) but it still does not work... I checked the configuration, looks correct... Help! Also I tried to use the FC7 as a control pedal, same problem. Actually, when I plug the pedal 80% (just half a cm not in) it does work but of course it is unstable ans rella not satisfactory solution!
Second question : when I use it for volume/swell control, the volume is either Zero or 100%, no smooth progression, is this normal? Hope not!
I hope anyone can help me, thanks in advance.

Hello Aurele,
Welcome to the forums!
No, that is NOT normal, but is due to an incompatible menu setting.
Check the System Menu/ Ctrl Pedal Type and set for "YA".
The FC7 will work for expression, swell, volume,
but the sustain and rotor speed requires a different, switch type pedal.
Cheers, Hanon

Thank you Hanon!
What other pedal would you suggest?
Musically yours!

A normal sustain pedal can do both sustain and rotor speed changes. Take a look at the manual if in doubt, unlike the electro 2 manual, the electro 3 manual is a quick read

Hello Aurele,
for rotor switching I find the Yamaha FC5 to be a great companion to my favorite FC7.
For piano damper (sustain) I prefer the FC4, which will work for either task.
Functionally, they are both the same, just one looks like a sustain pedal, the other like a footswitch.
Cheers, Hanon

Hello!
Which Pedal is able to modulate speed of phonic wheels ?
I see only 2 speeds on keybord: Slow and fast.
Thank you.

Hello nordwest,
Welcome to the forums!
the Electro series isn't able to continuously modulate the speed of the rotary speaker sim via control pedal. This is a feature of the stage series of instruments.
It is done by assigning rotor speed to the control pedal via the morph function, (page 61 of the Stage Ex manual).
The Yamaha FC7, Roland EV5, or ernie ball pedals would all work fine for this purpose.
Cheers, Hanon
