So I've been struggling with the Nord for a couple of weeks now. First off, it's a Nord Electro 4D and I'm using a MacBook Pro running on Sierra and mainly use Logic Pro X and Pro Tools 12.
I've had this Nord for about 3 Years now and have never had issues with it. But these past 2 weeks it's been acting up and sort of been stuck in 'Organ' mode when I was trying to use it as a Midi Controller. What I mean with Organ mode is: The organ side of the Nord was the only thing that even remotely would control anything regarding sound on Logic - which was quite annoying to begin with, but I could live with that. But addidtionally it decided to completely get rid of any sort of velocity control - which would give me hours of work in that department. It's not a logic issue, cause my Keystation mini works perfectly but obviously thats not ideal to work with. So I just completely gave up in that regard and reset my Nord back to factory settings.
Bad move.
Now I've lost any sort of Midi control that I had.
So, where I'm at right now:
- Nord works as a keyboard hooked to an amp. Sounds can be transferred via the Sound Manager etc.
- Nord is recognized in Audio/Midi Set up on the Mac (it's lit up)
- When in test mode in Audio/Midi Set up there's no signal coming in
- And therefore when in Logic or Protool again, no signal what so ever.
- Keystation still works, so i'm ruling out the possibility of it being a mac issue.
- Also - added issue, theres a high static noise that starts when the nord is hooked up with both midi and audio.... highly annoying
- Also - M-box seems to be working fine since it's still playing music flawlessly.
I'd really love some advice on the matter. This has never happened to me - and there's so much work to be done that this is completely throwing off my schedule!
Thanks in advance,
Sharon
