Nord Electro 3 73 HP Gig Bag
Hello, I recently bought a used Nord Electro 3 73 HP keyboard. It came with a heavy duty road case and am interested in having a nord gig bag for it as well. I've read that the typical 73 key gig bag that nord sells doesn't fit this specific HP model. Would anyone have any insight on this or recommendations for which route to go if I wanted to get a bag for mine? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Highly recommended.
ETA:
Oops, see you have an E3.
This fits the E5HP very well, not sure how the E3 compares in size. If they are similar it should work well for you.

E3 HP is essentially the same size. I own the ProGo61 and it fits my E3HP perfectly.
I also own the "old" Nord soft gig back for the HP. I use the ProGo more because it's more protective.

Ok, thanks for the recommendations. Has anyone used the "Nord Soft Case for Nord Stage 76" or used it for the Nord Electro 3 73 HP? I'm wondering if this might be a possible case to use....

Re: Nord Electro 3 73 HP Gig Bag
It's longer than the 73 HP bag by a few inches. It's also considerably heavier. The only advantage might be the wheels, but it's a cumbersome case.chrissmithmusic wrote:Ok, thanks for the recommendations. My opinion is that the Gator bag is your best buy.

Re: Nord Electro 3 73 HP Gig Bag
Rusty Mike, thanks for the suggestion. So I assume you've dealt with both of these cases and you prefer the Gator Pro‑Go Ultimate Gig Keyboard Bag 76‑Note G‑PG‑76? The wheels might be nice with the nord bag but with the gator bag you get the backpack straps. As I said in my initial post, I already have a heavy duty road case with wheels, so my goal here is to make portability as easy and light as possible with the lightweight keyboard that the Nord Electro 3 HP already is. Having the backpack straps seems enticing. Any more feedback is much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Nord Electro 3 73 HP Gig Bag
Aside from the Electro 3HP. I also own a Stage 2EX 76HP. I have the Nord wheeled bag, for the Stage, as it's really the only soft case the fits the instrument well.
The wheels are necessary, as the bag itself is 16 pounds heavy. The Stage is a few inches longer and only 3 lb. heavier than the Electro, but adding the carry bag pushes the weight close to 40 lb. It's a bit more protective than the Nord soft bag for the 73HP instruments, as it has paneled sides. But it's not more protective than the Gator bag.
There are several challenges with the wheels, however. First, the angle at which you pull the case behind you is pretty shallow, and the "fenders" covering the wheels nearly drag along the ground. There is another handle on the back of the bag that provides a steeper angle, but it also raises the center of gravity and makes pulling awkward. Also, there are feet on the bottom of the case, but don't dare think that the laden bag will stand on its own, because it absolutely won't. Carrying the case up and (especially) down stairs is cumbersome.
Can you tell I'm not a fan?
Unfortunately, the next size up Pro-Go is too long for the Stage 76. If Gator made a model in the right length, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
When I got the Stage, I had actually planned to sell my Electro. I decided against it, and still bring it to rehearsals and gigs where piano is all I need. It's so much simpler to cart around. I do not blame the instrument, but rather the Nord case that is the only game in town.
Enough ranting - back to your situation. I am extremely happy with the Pro-Go for my Electro. I don't use the backpack straps, but not for any particular reason. The case is light, the insides are plush and well padded and the instrument sits in there nice and securely. The outside pocket is big (I carry the Nord music rest), and there are smaller organizer pockets for cables as well as a plush pocket for a tablet. It even comes with a little rain cover. It's a bit "fatter" than the Nord 73 soft bag, but that's because of the additional protection. To me, it was money well spent.

Re: Nord Electro 3 73 HP Gig Bag
I'm going to take the advise on this thread and purchase the gator bag. Before I do I just want to confirm the size. I have an NE3 HP keyboard. Above you said that you got the 61 key gator bag for your Electro HP keyboard. I assume that is a 61 key keyboard? If I have a 75 key keyboard I have to get the 76 key gig bag right? Thank you in advance! http://www.gatorcases.com/p/111263-2282/g-pg-76
