Newbie Nord Electro 4D Question

Post by bethy1234 »

Hi guys,

I have just bought myself a second-hand Nord Electro 4d, and i am very, very pleased with it. My specific problem is how do i change midi channels via the Nord Program section?

Here is what i have tried (from the manual.

when I hold down Shift and press the Midi button I get "1.0n".

When i then press the Page/Menu button upwards, each time i then get these additional 9 values on the LED screen :-

2.u
3.1
4.2
5.5r
6.55r
7.0f
8.d0 (the do is flashing)
9.da (the da is flashing)
10.c (the c is flashing)

I have read the supplied manual, and i cannot see how any of these values correspond to midi channel values 1 - 16. Can you please help?

Thanks everybody

Silkscreened on the instrument, to the right of the controls, is a legend that shows what those numbers correspond to.

To change the main MIDI channel, you need to:

1. Press Shift and MIDI
2. Hit the Value up button until the first digit is "3"
3. Hold Shift and press the Value Up/Down buttons until you get to the channel you want.
4. Hit any other button (such as a program button) to exit the MIDI menu

I suggest you download a PDF version of the manual from Nord's website as well. The MIDI menu explanation starts on page 18.

I hope this helps.

Mike
