I was all set to buy a NI Komplete Keyboard until I got to play one in a guitar center (thank God!).
On paper they are impressive, but the keyboard feel was nowhere near as nice as what you get with Nord.

That is so not true. I know quite a few young pianists and keyboardists and the reason they don't play Nords live is either because they cannot afford them or they have not been exposed to them yet. They make do with Rolands, Korgs and whathaveyou but if you ask them about their dream setup, there will be at least one Nord keyboard in it. Quality always floats to the top and age has nothing to do with recognizing it.

That pretty much sums it up for me too.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
Let's say I wanted to use the "Royal Grand" acoustic piano for the low end, and the "Baby Upright" on the high end (it seems to cut better on the top end, but has an anemic low end).
I think I know the answer for the Electro 5, but I'll include it in the question:
Can I do this with the Electro 5, Electro 6, Stage 2EX, and Stage 3?
Thanks!

Electro line: no. Only one of each engine (piano, organ, sample synth).
Stage line: yes. Two of each engine (piano, organ, A1 synth with sample capability, one each per slot A and B).

Re: New Nord Electro 6
So am I understanding that you cannot split 2 synth sounds like you can do on a Stage keyboard?

Correct. Cannot be done on any Electro, including the 6.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
There alot more reasons to keep my trusty NE5D than to purchase NE6D. Just not enough improvements or features for me plus no Setlist in the NE6. Plus the price will be much higher at least for a year or so because most companies don't discount new products in the first year. We will see?
Re: New Nord Electro 6
The only way to use 2 piano sounds on the NE5D would be for instance use Royal Grand on low end and use a sample piano from the nord sample library of an Upright Grand. That would probably work I assume.
