Re: New Nord Electro 6
I'm keeping my NE5D, but if I had an older Electro I'd consider the upgrades on the NE6 worth it. I've had Yamaha, Roland, Korg and even going back to days before the Common Era when Yamaha DX7's hadn't yet roamed the earth and was lugging my Rhodes 73 up stairs to the gigs, the rest of the band would conveniently disappear. The Nord sounds really good to my ears and is easy to use, 'specially live, Light. it's no more complicated than that. Contrary opinions are valid, but could be more convincing if the basic concept of polyphony were presented more accurately.

Does this mean you can have 2 split points, effectively 3 keyboard zones?
Nope, you have 2 Zones and you can assign each of the 3 sound sections to either or both.
I don't understand why they upgrade the NE6 to 3-part multi-timbral, but didn't upgrade to 3 zones... That would have made upgrading from my NE5 more of a consideration. I'll hold off a little longer and save up for the NS3 Compact.

Same prices as the E5.
Same price on HP but 100+ EUR up on D models.

D-model prices dropped a tiny bit lately, but I'm pretty sure at launch and for most of the time, it always was €1800 (E5D61) and €2000 (E5D73).

Well, I have never looked at the price of the Electro because I was sold on the Stage anyway when I bought mine in 2011 but 1800 Euros isn't crazy compared to the Stage....

Re: New Nord Electro 6
Yes, considering that an Electro is basically half a Stage, it makes sense that it's basically half the price.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
I remember paying approximately £1800 for my Electro 3HP when I bought it new.
I'm not surprised to see the price of the NE6 either side of £1800 for the 61D, 73D and HP models. Thomann seems to be following this pattern and I'll bet the UK suppliers will pretty much match the price.
I'm very tempted to upgrade to a NE6 73.

Re: New Nord Electro 6
Wow.
So does anyone know about the new dual organ mode? Can't find a manual yet. From Clavia:
"Dual Organ Mode
The dedicated new Dual Organ mode provides quick access to dual manual setups and offers great overview and control of the drawbar settings for both the Lower and Upper manual."
Is it just a screen layout? Also, would this allow a third midi channel for pedal keys? (Wishful?)
Also, the new tube overdrive amp sim looks pretty cool.
