Well, i have to say that after four months of owning my new Electro 5D 73, the power supply hum is really not an issue in any live situation into which i have taken it. It's just not an issue in the "real world." In my studio it's pretty obvious, but i'm not going to record it thru the air anyhow.

I'm more bothered by the fact that the keyboard is "E to E" as opposed to "F to F" as my Electro 3 was. F to F fits my musical environment more than E to E does, but i accept that i'm a dinosaur and i'm just glad still to be playing jazz in public (although having that upper F would sure be sweet, and more than once i"ve had to pantomime it!).

BTW Pablo is totally right - the set lists are a usable solution to Nord's omission of bank select functionality re: patch memory. Thanks Pablo!

I've owned multiple Nord keyboards over the past 10 - 12 years (Electro 2, Electro 3, Lead, Piano). I've never experienced any audible hum/buzz. I recently upgraded my Electro 3 to 5D, and it definitely has an audible hum/buzz. I believe it to be the display, not the power supply. I wish that it didn't, but it doesn't actually impact anything that I do with the keyboard.

Hi,
I had an Electro 5, absolutly no hum. Not any noise.
Keybed was noisy but it's an other story.
Now I have a Piano 3 and it hummmmmmmssss.
No explanations for that.
I should have keep the no hum Electro 5... It seems to be a collector... ;)

Cheers

After 2 years the hum still annoys me here and there when I use it at home. When I turn it on. When I turn it off. In between I am way too busy making awesome music to even notice it. Completely unoticeable in a stage or practice room setting.

Probably just the way the humming changes with your perspective, you're hearing different overtones from different reflections as you move away from it.

OLED displays sometimes employ a charge pump to generate the higher voltages needed to drive the display elements. These charge pump circuits often have audio-band harmonics. I think there's two different sources (1. Display, 2. Main Power).
I agree with you about how positioning/perspective change what you hear.

My Electro 673D also has a slight hum from the internal power supply. Nord should look into this although it has no effect on the amplified sound be it through an amplifier or headphones. Just annoying.
