New out of the box, plugged in the pedals I was using with my Electro 3HP - sustain and controller. Sustain triggers a hold and doesn't release, controller was used on the 3 for volume, nothing. The manual says it's supposed to recognize the pedals. Ain't happening. Pretty slim documentation in the manual.... Am I missing something simple here?

Hi Wags - I am not familiar with Electro 3, but did you try any of the options for pedals in the System menu (p16 of the E5 manual).

Hold Shift down while pressing System to access the menu.

Also, do your pedals have polarity settings that you can try out.
