NE5D Update problem (SOLVED)

Postby ozio01 » 27 Sep 2017, 09:28

Hi all,
Yesterday evening I tried to update the OS of my NE5D. The PC detected it correctly, it got the current release installed (1.30) and proposed to update to the 1.42. I clicked the button on the PC dialog window, the NE5D rebooted to be prepared to update and... it remained stuck there forever, with the progression bar empty on the NE5D display. Fortunately, although after an hour I closed the PC window and switched off/on the NE5D, everything (OS 1.30) was still there, functioning.

Any hint before to try resetting the NE5D or reinstalling the factory settings downloaded from the website?

Thanks in advance.

SOLUTION: I installed the latest release of Sound Manager (7.06), backed up the content of my NE5D and, once finished, I tried the update again. It worked.
Maybe installing the sound manager did overwrite the drivers and this made everything work well. Quite strange anyway because when the update failed my PC was able to connect to the NE5D and retrieve the current OS release without problems...
