Hi,
I imagine the following situation, and would want to record (sequence) the MIDI of the 2 NE5D parts played live via 2 keyboards in my DAW, through an USB audio/MIDI Interface (Focusrite Scarlett).
I play Upper Part on the NE5D keyboard
I play Lower Part via MIDI on my Kurzweil PC3 LE8 (so, we have MIDI OUT the Kurzweil into MIDI IN of the NE5D)
Will the NE5D MIDI OUT transmit too the MIDI Data received from Kurzweil, to my Focusrite MIDI In, as a MIDI THRU would do ?
If not, what could be the solution to have the 2 parts recorded at the same time to MIDI of the daw, as i play them Live ?
Thank You
Alex

Re: NE5D Midi out
The NE5 does not support any "soft thru" so it will not send your Kurz MIDI data to its MIDI OUT.
The best approach in these cases is to connect both keyboards to the computer (DAW), via USB or MIDI DIN as you prefer, then manage the necessary MIDI routing from the DAW, redirecting the Kurz MIDI data to the NE5 Lower Channel.

Re: NE5D Midi out
Thank you Max !
Do you think i will feel a time delay while playing, as it will be Local Off i suppose, and midi out Kurzweil, then Midi out of Daw for the lower part ?
It's for rythmic, funky grooves, and i like to feel the connection between keys and sounds (that's why i dont like so much piano plug-ins)...

Re: NE5D Midi out
Actually you should not need to put the NE in local off, just create a track on your DAW having the Kurz as MIDI IN and the NE5 Lower Channel as MIDI OUT; the delay introduced by the computer doing the MIDI routing is negligible, you shouldn't even notice it.
