I'm trying to use my Electro 3, to drive the upper part of my Electro 5, via midi.
I hooked everything up and used the settings, per the E-5 manual, but no sound output.
The MIDI lights flashes when I hit the E-3 keyboard, as if it's receiving, but no output.
Has anyone experienced this?

Re: Midi controller for Electro 5
I set the NE 3 to transmit, and it does, but now, instead of driving the "upper" part, it drives the "lower" part and I also have no pedal function.
Then with no input, it will switch back to doubling the lower only voice.
I guess I'll have to go back to a (tiny) mixer and (2) sets of pedals.
Trying to midi the (2) NORDS is too glitchy, unreliable and frustrating to try to use live.
The idea was too allow me less button hits and easier playing, but the opposite is true.
I love the NORD sounds, but their documentation is so weak, I'm about ready to archive my boards and go back to Roland.

Re: Midi controller for Electro 5
I think you need to take time and get a better understanding of MIDI instead, in general and in particular on the NE5 and 3.
There are not many manual pages about that, true, but there's all you need to know.
http://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/defa ... on%20D.pdf (Page 15, scenario 3)
Then if this setup doesn't fit your needs, different story.

Re: Midi controller for Electro 5
Thank you for the PDF of the NE5 Manual. I have that and have used it, but it does not perform as printed.
I'm going to update the OS in both boards and try again. I hope it is simply a software glitch
