Interfacing to computer

Postby Pismo » 21 Jan 2012, 09:10

How is everyone hooking up their nord to a computer ?

Why can't the USB send the music signal ?

I was thinking of getting the apogee jam but it might not be quiet enough.

The Electro has no build in "soundcard" and that's just how it was made. The USB is for OS-update and sample transfer only.

For audio it's simple as long as you have stereo ins of a good quality you'll be fine. Even a Behringer UCA202 should do the trick.
If you want midi as well, then you'll need some kind of midi interface. Anything will work as long as you can get drivers for it.

For audio I connect with the Apogee Duet 2. It's expensive and not without its quirks, but it seems to be a high quality interface (not that I'm really competent to compare with other options. I'm pretty new at this.)

For midi I use one of these, with which I have no complaints at all: http://www.creative.com/emu/products/pr ... &pid=19089
