Re: How to hear samples/sounds library before loading them?
No sorry maybe I haven't explained. What I would like is not to play samples standalone but just connect my E3 and be able to play sounds before uploading them

Any protection can be removed/circumvented. The best way of making sure certain functionality is never abused is not to include it at all. You might've put your finger on an important reason for not including this functionality.
I agree that it would be highly useful if you could preview sounds in the Sound Manager.

I think that's pretty much what anotherscott meant with his 'dongle' suggestion - if Clavia had done it that way, you would've been able to do what you describe.
So unfortunately you can't preview the sounds, whether your E3 is connected or not, perhaps for the reason anotherscott describes

exactly, like the old Protools, without their hardware you can't use it.
But I hoped it was just me stupid not to find this feature.
Cause I've read somewhere if you click info on a sound should at least play, but couldn't find this option.

Re: How to hear samples/sounds library before loading them?
especially cause the amount of memory available for samples (excluding hammond and organ which usually I do not erase) isn't really a lot
So yesterday I've load like 20 samples and that's it
obviously we're talking about the best quality I've ever heard but you know would be nice to have this feature

Re: How to hear samples/sounds library before loading them?
I just bought a Nord Electro 4 and am dealing with this frustration now. I see the last post on here was just over two years ago. Is there still no way for me to listen to these samples other than loading them onto my Nord?

As far as I know, no. And the Nord sample library still only have demos of less than half of the samples.

It's really never been an issue for me. I always keep a handful of empty slots open on my instrument just so I can load a bunch of sounds that I think might work and audition them from there. It's easy enough to delete what I'm not going to use afterwards.

Re: How to hear samples/sounds library before loading them?
I did that too: I went to all libraries and download them by Instruments/type of sound. Then I download a lot just keeping few spot available and anytime I needed some room for a custom sample, I deleted what I was not using. For example, I had downloaded a lot of Minimoog bass samples because I don't have a Moog in my arsenal and thought it was the type of sound Moog was famous for but.....Realized that I never play any bass part in my two bands: Even if it's a bass part made by a synth (Billy Jeans for example), we use pedals with my bassist to make is sound "synthy"...

Re: How to hear samples/sounds library before loading them?
Personally I would like to use the sound editor to assign different Nord samples from their library to different keyboard zones. When I bought my E5D I thought this is possible since Nord has NOT to open its sound format for that, just assigning different samples to different key zones. I am OK with not playing two different sample sounds at a time on E5D, but even that kind of custom split seems impossible. Sad business decisions everywhere, next they offer random loot boxes
