I left the house planning to purchase a korg kross, I got back home having spent 2.5x more on a ne5 61, missus was more than understanding.
shop is willing to credit the full amount towards the stage, but spending almost the cost of the ne5 once more right now is a no no.
regarding the second option I was referring to simply using the rack's pitch bend or strip, assuming MIDI channel compatibility, nothing more. roland synth racks come to mind.

Re: help: just purchased electro 5d 61...wrong choice?
I wasn't trying to talk you into swapping up right now, just suggesting that you might feel that way at some point in time in the future
regarding second point, I'm not sure that I've even seen a rack module which had a PB control on the front panel -- is there such a thing? I have some several Roland synth racks over here, but they're all from the 80's...(MKS-30/50/70/80 and D-550)

Re: help: just purchased electro 5d 61...wrong choice?
I think I found one with pitchbend, the roland jx03.
regarding the ne5 pablo I have to ask as I'm still a little confused about this,
what would the intended use of the midi pitchbend recent OS addition be?
thanks

Re: help: just purchased electro 5d 61...wrong choice?
wow, PB on a rack unit. For only three bills.
?? the intended use of the midi pitchbend on NE5 would be to...bend pitches. As shown in OS history, this functionality is provided only for with respect to Part Upper when in Midi Split Mode, and when in Midi Split Mode Part Upper can only be addressed via remote controller (hardware or software).
Not sure why you refer to this as "recent OS addition." That occurred nearly 15 months ago and just a couple months after release of the instrument (before I got my demo unit). This is not new.
Bless, Pablo

I would follow Pablo's suggestion. If your dealer is willing to give you full credit on the Electro, just trade it in on the Stage and simplify things. I have had mine for 4 years now it it is the single best musical purchase I have made.
You won't be disappointed!

Re: help: just purchased electro 5d 61...wrong choice?
I'm away from home this week so can't really check and the 5d manual is not so helpful.
speaking of the piano engine,
Is it possible to load all of the piano samples for a given section ( i.e. all listed electric pianos ) or is there a limit per section?

Re: Selling newly purchased electro 5d 61
thanks all for your feedback, the 5d is an amazing instrument.
however I decided to sell it, it's not the right instrument for me right now.
it's brand new and comes with the standard 2 years warranty from the shop I purchased from here in London, plus nord softbag.
I'm writing the ad very soon, meantime please PM me if interested
thanks
Luca

From reading everything you said, I really think you should buy an analogue synth! Just my two pennies worth

Well, that's why I made that suggestion - the best way to satisfy a pianist with interest in vintage synth sounds is with a piano and a synth!! I would seriously consider a poly synth, you can't beat the real thing even with the Nord samples in my opinion. Out of interest, do you have anything else the you can plat piano sounds on, e.g. a plug-in etc?
