I have an Electro 3. Because I've never owned a Farfisa I didn't understand that the drawbars on the Nord emulation seem to be either on or off, or more adequately put, either 50% on the top or 50% on the bottom. I'm not sure if it was a function of one of the parameters I had set (since I'm not entirely sure what C3 vs C2 means either). I do know what Leslie is, the effects and vaguely understand percussion. Anyway, on the Hammond and VOX, it seems I can set the exact degree of the drawbars where as on the Farfisa it just flips them from lights on the top to lights on the bottom. I don't understand. While I have the floor, can anybody tell me the exact settings for When A Man Loves A Woman, which I understand, surprisingly, was played on a Farfisa. I have found the Hammond B-3 simulation of this but I think the Farfisa with the touch of vibrato (or whatever it is) sounds very close. I find if I use too much lows the Inda-godd-da-vida overdriven thing creeps in.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Farfisa Drawbars on Electro 3
I can't help you with the settings but the Farfisa emulation itself is simple to understand. They are NOT drawbars at all. They are simple on/off switches - that's it. Nord just used the drawbar leds to show if the swtiches are on or off. They could have made it so that when off no leds are lid and when on all the leds are lid. But they made the way they did to "emulate" a rocker switch. C3 and C2 and so on is chorus settings.
I would advise you to read the manual. It's a quick read, and after that the entire Electro 3 is a piece of cake to understand...

Re: Farfisa Drawbars on Electro 3
Basically what Clavia have done is to simulate not only the sounds of the three very different organs but also their functionality. A Hammond has 8-level drawbars for each of nine footages of (fairly) pure sine waves which can be added together to create thousands of different tones. A Vox Continental has a number of footage drawbars (of which at least one is a "mixture" of several footages, plus two additional drawbars (shown as single LEDs on the Nord) controlling the respective levels of the two waveforms (near-sine and triangle) available. The Farfisa is much closer in operation (though not in sound!) to a traditional pipe organ, with stop-tabs (switches), each of which controls a specific waveform at a specific footage. Not all waveforms are available at all footages, but any combination of stops can be used simultaneously to create complex sounds.
Hope this helps.
