Hi team,
I set my EQ so that the Bass and Treble are at the 2:00 position. Generally I leave it off, however, sometimes I need that extra punch in those bands in the middle of a song (rhythm vs. solo). Problem: when I turn on the EQ, nothing happens to the existing voice. I need to jog the Bass and Treble rotary knobs a hair so that the new setting takes affect. This is very annoying! Is there a way to have the EQ provide the sound from the button settings when you turn on the EQ? As it is now, you turn on the EQ but the voice remains flat until you move the rotary buttons. This is completely wrong and a dumb design! Please tell me there is a way to set this up.
I do know that after you've turned on the EQ, moved the knobs a wee bit so the new settings take affect, the On/Off button THEN works so long as you STAY in that voice. When you change voices often in a gig, this method really doesn't work. If I have to memorize the EQ settings on a per voice basis, I would be creating dozens of voices. There's often little time to go hunting for the perfect voice between songs. Having a preset doesn't make any sense. Help !

Re: EQ question
If you use the setlist functionality, you could have the diff eq settings one 2 diff programs and use the locations in the setlist. Would still require saving the voice with diff eq settings in separate voices.

Re: EQ question
Thanks wbra01. That's what I feared was the only solution. As mentioned, it could mean having a lot of different preset Programs. Not very intuitive. It would be far better to have a basic EQ setting based on your type of speakers. When you push the EQ button, it should give you that basic EQ setting without having to monkey around with knobs. They do that with the DRWB SYNC and DRWB LIVE buttons on the B3 sounds. Why not the EQ. Crap....
Thanks for chiming in though .

Re: EQ question
Not sure which Electro you have -- but on the NE3, the values of the EQ are saved with the program even if the EQ is off.
So the way I've done it is to set the EQ to whatever "punch" I want, and then disable the EQ entirely and save the program. Then, when I recall the program and start playing the EQ is off until I switch it on -- in which case it retains the setting I gave it initially.
But is that not possible on whatever Electro you have?

Re: EQ question
Hi baekgaard,
I have the 5D and it works as you describe. I don't think I can make the EQ work as described in my post. I'd like to set the EQ bands (roughly) and when i press the ON button for the EQ, the sound is applied to whatever Program I choose. I don't want to have to save each program. Guess it won't work .

Re: EQ question
Ah, get it. I missed that you wanted to have sort of a "global" EQ setting that can be applied to any program, independently of what that it is. Maybe an external EQ could do the trick (even though it's somewhat cumbersome)?

Re: EQ question
No worries, baekgaard. I run my Nord through a SoundCraft mixer, which has the same EQ controls as my Nord. It sits right beside me and is easily adjusted. Good idea! I should have thought of that .
