Postby dzeykery » 14 Oct 2016, 18:20

Hello,

That feature does not exist on the NE5. You need a NL or NS with the synth engine to do that. NE5 is really just a sample playback engine with some filtering, effects and envelope controls. Chorus/phase/flange could simulate unison.

Nope, you can't do it. The sample player on the NE5 is only polyphonic.

Ran into the same issue trying to play a sax patch for a solo, which I obviously want to be mono....can't be done.
Guess I'll be REALLY careful when playing the solo !!

Kinda hard to understand this.....dissapointing, its like the nord is doing this on purpose since its very little scripting effort needed to make unisono possible.

Even if it requires little effort (which I don't know for a fact), "mono mode" by itself is of limited use. If you want mono mode, you probably also want one or more other things... i.e. portamento (glide), and modulation (LFO), and pitch bend, and legato trigger (continuous envelope for legato playing, new attack after all keys released), and additional hard controls and/or menu options to implement these things. You're probably better off just putting something like a Korg Monologue or Roland Boutique on top of your E5, and run a MIDI cable if you want to play it from more/bigger keys. Electro is a piano/organ/sample player, it just isn't really a synth, even if it has a few synth functions.
