Agreed, mapisto. And glad to help. AIs come in all shapes, sizes, and features. I'm certainly not an expert, but I was advised by a friend, who has a solid knowledge of recording, to buy the Steinberg UR-44. He is also a top-flight bass player. The UR-44 is a very robust interface that contains Yamaha's very best mic pres, and tons of inputs and controls. The UR-44 has always shown up in the Device list in all software programs and under every platform I have ever used, which means the driver is very well written. There are other excellent AIs too. Do your homework.

Hopefully, we've brought you one step closer to solving your problem. In the words of a very famous Canadian comic, Red Green, "Keep your stick on the ice." :)
