Greetings
In the Electro 3 HP -Can anyone tell me what the 11 settings in the Shift-Sound mode do?
Thanks,

Re: Electro 3 HP SHIFT SOUND
Hello Rob,
they are for tailoring certain sound and effects parameters to your needs.
I believe that first the Shift+System menu (Memory Protect) has to be turned off.
Then as an example: Shift+Sound Up/Down arrow to #9 allows the setting of the B3 model type Tonewheel Mode (tone generator leakage and crosstalk) u3 is the oldest and dirtiest, CL is the newest and cleanest.
To exit, press a second time on the program A,B, or Live Button.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Electro 3 HP SHIFT SOUND
Thank You
do hear a subtle difference in the B-3 on the #9 parameter.
Does anyone know what the other 10 settings control?

Hi Rob,
I didn't want to reprint the manual as it has good explanations for each of the settings.
But I do have some time so here goes:
1. Treble Horn Speed
(High, Normal, Low)
Sets the speed setting (in the fast and slow speed modes) of the rotary speaker simulation's treble horn. {Leslie speakers have a 3 position pulley on the upper horn which results in 3 possible speeds, the idea was to allow the cabinet to be tailored to the acoustic specifics of the room where it was installed, this was always a point of contention with organists "the next person playing always wanted it different"}
2. Treble Horn Acceleration
(High, Normal, Low)
Sets the acceleration and retardation time of the rotary speaker simulation's treble horn.
{This simulates the tightness, or looseness of the belt which spins the horn}
3.Bass Rotor Speed
(High, Normal, Low)
Sets the speed setting (in the fast and slow speed modes) of the rotary speaker simulation's bass rotor.
{Leslie speakers have a 3 position pulley on the rotor motor which results in 3 possible speeds, the idea was to allow the cabinet to be tailored to the acoustic specifics of the room where it was installed, this was always a point of contention with organists "the next person playing always wanted it different"}
4. Bass Rotor Acceleration
(High, Normal, Low)
Sets the acceleration and retardation time of the rotary speaker simulation's bass rotor.
{This simulates the tightness, or looseness of the belt which spins the rotor}
5. Percussion Fast Decay
(Long, Normal, Short)
Sets the fast mode decay time of the Tonewheel percussion effect.
{Different ages of tonewheel organs had differing characteristics (also tube age) this helps compensate for a more authentic experience}
6. Percussion Slow Decay
(Long, Normal, Short)
Sets the slow mode decay time of the Tonewheel percussion effect.
{Different ages of tonewheel organs had differing characteristics (also tube age) this helps compensate for a more authentic experience}
7. Percussion Normal Level
(High, Normal, Low)
Sets the level of the percussion effect in it's normal setting.
{Different ages of tonewheel organs had differing characteristics (also tube age) this helps compensate for a more authentic experience}
8. Percussion Soft Level
(High, Normal, Low)
Sets the level of the percussion effect in it's soft setting.
{Different ages of tonewheel organs had differing characteristics (also tube age) this helps compensate for a more authentic experience}
9. Tonewheel Mode
(u3 Vintage3, u2 Vintage2, u1 Vintage1, Cl Clean)
Sets the level of tonewheel crosstalk and cable leakage artifacts of the B3 organ model.
10. Percussion Drawbar 9 Cancel
(C Cancel, n Normal)
If this is set to cancel, the 9th drawbar will be muted when the percusssion effect is activated, to mimic the behavior of an original organ.
{In an unmodified B3, the percussion effect would steal the highest drawbar to make it's sound. Many players would have the organ modified not to do this}
11. Key Click Level
(High, Normal, Low)
This sets the amount of Key Click for the B3 organ model.
{Key Click is an attack transient that occurs when all nine key contacts close, and again upon opening, causing an audible pop or click. This effect is usually relative to the age of the organ.}
Cheers, Hanon
