Hi,
I am hoping that someone can help me sort out the sound manager( latest version). I can't move sounds that I have downloaded to the Sample partiton in the Sound Manager, into the Programs partition and permanently save it. When I delete the sound from the Sample partition I also lose it in the Program partition.
Also, I have deleted some of the sounds in the Sample partition and replaced them with new ones. The trouble is that now some of the factpry insltalled programs have also used the new samples?? I feel lost and disheartened>
All I want to do is to download a good range of "synth" sounds and then store them in the programs partiton. Does this make any sense? Can some please help me?
Thanks from Australia
The piano and organ section are superb!

Re: Electro 3 73 HP Sound Manager - please help
Hi Nordy,
The Programs and Samples are stored in separated areas of memory, besides Programs "use" the Samples by referencing their index number (i.e. They ony store that number, not the whole sample).
That's the reason why:
A) you cannot copy a Sample onto a Program
B) if you delete/replace an existing Sample and its location was referenced in one ore more programs, this will also affect the "using" Programs
In this forum, we already asked Clavia if they could add some feature to Sound manager to highlight this dependency, but so far you can only detect it manually.

Re: Electro 3 73 HP Sound Manager - please help
Thanks Max.
I'm not sure what this really means......in effect , in Sound Manager you only have a very small memory section in the Samples partition. The Piano partition is also linked to the Program partition.
I guess then, that, you can sort & 'colour' the sounds in the Program and re-save them - in any order? But you cannot delete/import sampled sounds from the library, without drastically effecting 'the whole' memory section of the Electro's program?
I feel i am missing something here, not very tech. savvy.... what's the best way to get the most out of the Electro 73.......and save a bank of some synth sounds without causing chaos to the Programs??
Cheers and thanks to all the contributers for this great resource...

Re: Electro 3 73 HP Sound Manager - please help
Hello Nordy66,
Welcome to the forums,
Max provided some good information.
The Samples are a building block of a program, if you change or delete the sample that the program uses, the program still exists, just without the deleted sample.
There is a spreadsheet here on the forum that shows the sample to program relationships of the original factory set.
This should help identify which samples need to be replaced, and in which sample location.
If you put a sample back in the original location that was used by a program, the program will work.
Cheers, Hanon

Everything will be all right in the end. If it's not all right, then it's not the end.
