I just purchased a hard shell case for my E3 @ Wal-mart of all places.
It is made by Plano. Has a lot of foam. 5 latches. It's not flight worthy,
But would protect better than a soft case. Wmart had them for under $40-
Amazon has them for $100-.
Product Description
The Gun Guard AW Tactical Case from Plano is designed to hold and protect an AR-15 style rifle up to 36 inches long in the most extreme conditions. Built to offer a complete shield against the elements, the Gun Guard Case features a continuous Dri-Loc seal that ensures the case remains watertight, airtight, and dust proof. The case boasts rugged, hard-sided construction with thick walls and heavy-duty dual stage, spring loaded latches with pad lock tabs. High strength pinned hinges and a high-density foam interior round out the features on this all-weather case.
Features and Specifications:
Rugged thick-wall construction
Weather tight Dri-Loc seal
Over molded handle
Spring assisted dual-stage latches
High-density pluck foam
Pressure release valve
Lockable
Exterior dimensions: 40 by 16 by 5.5 inches
Interior dimensions: 37 by 13 by 5 inches
I was happy to get one & wanted to share this with you.

Re: E3 hard shell case
Unfortunately rifle cases and related miltary hardware tend not to be on sale in high-street shops here in the UK...

Not only that, but try walking through Heathrow with a military hardware case without getting pounced on!

Here, they're more interested in open sports drink containers and tweezers.
Like there's some type of destructive device to be made with tweezers
Better yet, lets hide a gun in this gun case, nobody will ever think to look in there
Welcome to the forums steviehutch!

Re: E3 hard shell case
Ok, Yes I'm in the U.S. but this case is just a plastic case with no particular markings. You could carry bicycle parts in it or jelly jars. Empty Jelly Jars. Full ones would be too heavy. I guess we are not experiencing the same anti- gun fervor here. Except amongst the politicians and police. Either way it was just a thought. I have also used a standard guitar case and cut out the foam. This worked fairly well at a reasonable price. I have also discovered that the 61 fits inside the Nord 73 case and will hold a pedal or two and cables.

Good Luck & Happy New Year,
Jelly jars? For a jam session, I guess...
