Hey guys;
Just wondering, is there any way of having dual Rotary speeds on the Electro 5 like what's on Hammond or Korg's CX-3? Been looking allover the Internet and I don't seem to see any inbuilt settings for that.

Re: Dual Rotary Speed.
What do you mean by Dual Rotary Speeds? On the NE5 you can separately adjust the Horn and Rotor speed and acceleration, not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

Hey,
Thanks for your response. Any tips on how to adjust the rotor and horn speeds? Sorry am new to Nord I only got my Electro a few months back and haven't even gotten any time to play on it.

Re: Dual Rotary Speed.
That depends on your purpose. The "NORMAL" adjustment should simulate the real 122-Leslie. But if you are playing rock-music, perhaps you should choose "HIGH" speed.
BUT: There are 4 parameters you can adjust. HORN-SPEED, ROTOR-SPEED, HORN-ACCELERATON, ROTOR-ACCELERATION.
Most of the time I do not use the internal simulation, but my NEO I. It sounds a little bit warmer and the drive (= overdrive) is a little bit deeper.
But I know, that only me and not the ordians will recognize the difference. The ordians think: Oh, an organ - that´s all.
In my NeoI I increase the ACC and the SPEED a Little bit, but there is a stepless Regulator and not only 3 steps.
AND: Look at the parameter "122" / "122close". That is very interesting one, because "122close" means amplifying the Leslie with two microphones (as you have to do on stage --- in former times!)

Re: Dual Rotary Speed.
It would be helpful, Jejeson, if you can explain exactly what you're looking to do. The Electro already has slow and fast speeds selectable from the front panel (and via pedal), as well as stop. The speed/acceleration controls can further customize these settings, but in terms of available speeds at any given moment, Korg, Hammond, Nord, and a real Leslie only have the two, fast and slow (and maybe stop, if you consider that a speed).

I think what I want to know is whether it's possible to set the bass and treble horn speeds separately on the Electro? After some reading I found the right words to explain what I mean.

Then, as explained above, the answer is: yes, to some extent, you have 3 settings available (low, normal, high) for Horn and Rotor speed and acceleration (4 parameters in total).

Re: Dual Rotary Speed.
You cannot switch the speed independently for horn and rotor.
I am not aware of any mods that would allow this on real Leslies (I've certainly never encountered one where top and bottom could be switched fast/slow independently), and I'm having a bit of a hard time imagining a situation where it would be useful.

Some real leslies allow this. You can control the settings of the bass and treble horn speeds, microphone distance, and a few other things on some keyboards (this is on the Korg Kronos and korg's other non cx3 boards like the tritons leslie sims). If you could watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eLice6qQjE . Jump to minute 7:30, you will see what I mean.
How I wish this were possible on the Electro 5D!
