This seems to be a solution to exactly your problem:

Edit: I just watched parts of this video. Although this guy replaces the contacts entirely, I did a similar repair on a Kurzweil PC88 and simply cleaned the contacts and reinstalled them (it's also a Fatar keybed). After cleaning and reinstalling the contacts, the keyboard worked fine. So you might not need to replace the contact — it might just need cleaning.

Had the same problem with my Electro 5d (only organ, no Piano with one key), and cleaned it. The vid you mentioned is good for overall instructions to do it, but pablo pointed out a few mistakes in the vid here:

Be shure to have a look at his tips, if you follow the vid.

Thank you, the key started work again. It looks like it will be ok for now. I am curious if the key will work. Thank you for advice.

Re: Dead key A# - Nord Electro 5d 73
Greetings people of nordland. I am here to find similar help. My 5d 73 gone bonkers on me yesterday during a gig and unfortunately a key lost its function. No midi signals, no piano sounds, no organ, no synth. The other 72 keys are working perfectly though. I am wondering if I should return for servicing (had it for 11 months) or should I try and perform the surgery myself. If I were to perform it myself, I do have a couple of questions,
1) to open up a electro 5d I need a special screwdriver ? Where can I find it?
2) if I would need to clean the contact of that key, what should I use to clean?
3) must I be careful of static while working the innards ?
I wonder if long exposure to stage fogs/stage smoke machines causes these keys to have bad contacts. What you guys think ?

Since you are still under warranty, if you can I'd recommend to go for servicing.
However, with regards to your questions:
1) no, normal scredrivers are good enough
2) it depends whether the problem is on the circuit side (which can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol) or the rubber contact (which usually needs a replacement or re-coating, unless it is just about some visible dirt that you can remove with just a dry tissue). There are several guides and videos about this on the web (it is basically the same for any brand and model, just Google for "synthesizer keys clean repair" or check the video posted in some previous reply on this same thread here).
3) that is always a good practice, when you deal with electronic circuits
Exposure to fog/smoke machines is a likely root cause, since those machines vaporize oily substances that may redeposit inside the synth.

Thanks for the reply max piano.
Called up local dealer and I am a couple of days over warranty. Go figure
I think it's a special screw head. What type of screw head would fit it? I attached some pictures of the screw.

It is called Torx. You would need a special screwdriver for that.

Re: Dead key A# - Nord Electro 5d 73
The only time I've had a similar problem is when I played this beach gig under a tent, people dancing, dust clouds in the air. I didn't have to open the board, just shook it enough to loosen the dirt that had gotten in the contacts. BTW, no more beach gigs for me
I think I have gear issues ....

OK, my fault as Torx screws are nowadays pretty common and I find Torx screwdrivers also in those cheap "multi tools sets" you find in any megastore, but maybe that's not true everywhere.
