Capped in the Samp lib Partition?

Postby blubby » 22 Jan 2012, 16:47

Hey guys :)
Since a few days, im a proud E3 owner, and im
just getting deep into it :keyboard2:
Now i just discovered this great forum and i found some Samples
id really like to see in my piano partition, especially some Wurli sounds.
But it seems like the sound manager wont allow me to put the Wurlitzer sounds in the Wurlitzer bank!
Are there any ways i can sneak arround that little issue?

Thanks in advance :] :yourock:

Hello blubby,
Welcome to the forums!

The short answer is no.

Only .npno (Nord Piano Library) can be loaded in the Pianos banks.
User created, and Nord Sample Library samples (.nsmp) will only load in the Samples bank.
Cheers, Hanon

Ohwow, pretty sad thing to me..
I thought it might be possible since Wurli even got an own Bank :()
I guess we should keep that up as a suggestion for the future of our red Lady
Thanks for your fast answer anyways

Which sample are you trying to put in there?
There's currently only one "Official" Wurly sample.

Theres one in the Sample librarie-> Acoustic/electric Pianos ->Acoustic Keyboards wich is pretty Cool.
Also one i found somewhere in this Forum.
I just wondered why they would make an own bank for Wurli sounds if theres just one of them wich can be put there anyways..

I wouldn't call it a whole bank, it's simply a piano sample location, just like EPianos, Acoustic Grands, or Clavs.
It doesn't have any affect on the number of programs that you can have.

But to venture a guess as to why it's this way:
I would say that the Piano Library Samples are handled differently by the instrument's hardware and software.
A Rhodes sample would be processed differently than an acoustic grand, and a Clav sample would be processed differently than the Wurltizer.

Just because there's currently only one Wurlitzer sample in the Nord Piano Library, doesn't mean that others aren't forthcoming.

Cheers, Hanon

The difference you have to be aware of is between Nord Sample Library and Nord Piano Library.

The Nord Piano Library (containing .npno programs IIRC) features samples of acoustic/electric pianos as well as Clavinet and harpsichord. These are processed so that the playing is the closest possible to the real feel.
The Nord Sample Library (containing .nsmp files IIRC) features "static" sample to be played through the "sample lib" function on your Electro 3. These are not as processed as the pianos and will playback much more simply.

Now, in the sample library, you can have piano or Wurli sounds, of course. But for the best feel, the Piano library is the way to go.
