I've read some of the forums posts about the smaller cable and came to the conclusion that I don't need to worry how to unplug it but just remove the whole little green circuit board as it just contains data for the individual keyboard calibration and has no electrical connection to the keybed.

Meanwhile, I have reassembled the unit. Unfortunately, I neither had the time to take some good photos nor did I achieve any big improvement with my operation :-( Also I couldn't hammer the bump back into place (maybe I was too much scared to damage the boards that were still mounted on the lower chassis after I had removed the keybed).
At least, it is running anyway. The F# key is still responding softer to velocity changes than the other keys.
What makes me wonder is that it IS in fact responding to velocity which in my opinon means that there is usable velocity data.
Any more ideas? As I have learned, the keybeds are calibrated individually with calibration data stored on that little green circuit board that is screwed to the keybed and connected to the main board via the 6-wire ribbon cable. Might there be a chance that the error is connected to that logic? Can the calibration be repeated by some service?

Thanks again for your help and advice,

Richard
