Nord Drum 2 Help

Postby FrankieFerrell » 05 Nov 2013, 21:43

I have my ipad connected to my Nord Drum 2 via the irig midi connection, Using Nord Beat 2 to sequence it. I have the midi channel set to 10 on the ipad and have set each channel on the nord drum to 10. the midi notes are set as follows:-

CH1 - 60
CH2 - 62
CH3 - 64
CH4 - 65
CH5 - 67
CH6 - 69

When playing a sequence, instead of each individual channel playing a sound. I'm just getting all channels playing at the same time. if i switch to pad mode and hit pad 5. instead of playing the sound on channel 5 it plays a pitched up version of all the channels at once.

I just want it to sequence like a normal drum machine and each pad i hit to play the channel with the sound on it and not a pitched up version.

Thanks

Frankie

Hi!

You have set all individual channels to listen to midi channel 10,
in that case all 6 channels of the ND2 will respond to ANY note played on midi channel 10
(you can actually use a keyboard to play melodies in this mode if you want)

Instead you need to only set the Global midi channel to 10, individual channels: Off
then all 6 ND2 channels will only respond to the set note (60, ...) played on midi channel 10

Try to use global channel 10 and set all the other channels off. Then the channels will respond to your incoming notes at 60, 62, 64, 65, 67, 69.

edit: doh, wartaler beat me to it. :)
