Hi. I'd like to ask about the proper midi setup for Nord Beat 2 with Nord Drum 2.
When I downloaded NB2, default midi channel was 10, but it didn't work at all.
So I tried other midi channels and when I chose channel 1, it finally worked.
But another problem has come up
- whenever other 5 channels are triggered(2~6), channel 1 is triggered too.
So I shut down the channel 1 and I end up using only 5 channels because of the problem.
Isn't it supposed to be working without additional settings?
Or is it the way it works and I should live with it?
Please tell me you know how to fix this.
I use iRig midi and apple 30 to lightning cable.
They all seem to be fine, I don't think it's a hardware problem.
Here is my midi setup parameters in NB2
MIDI channel: 1
MIDI note
1: 60
2: 62
3: 64
4: 65
5: 67
6: 69

Re: Nord Beat 2 setup
Hi!
How is your ND2 MIDI set up?
Normal setup of the ND2 in combination with NB2 app:
1) Match Global the MIDI channel of your ND2 [GL.x] in the MIDI menu, with the MIDI channel in the NB2 app
2) Match the MIDI notes [n.x] for each of the 6 ND2 Channels - with the notes in the NB2 app
3) Make sure the individual MIDI channels of the ND2 Channels [Ch.x] are either different than the MIDI channel set in the app, or OFF
You set the app to send notes to MIDI channel 1, I think apart from correctly setting Global MIDI channel to 1 [GL.1] in your ND2, you also activated individual MIDI channel of ND2 Channel 1, and set it to MIDI channel 1 [Ch. 1],
result: whatever note is played in the app is sent to expected ND2 Channel via the Global MIDI channel, but also to ND2 Channel 1, (the pitch of the note played by ND2 channel 1 varies depending which note is played in the app)
See latest version of the manual page 23/24 and 28/29 for further details.. http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/nord-drum-2
Cheers,
Albert
