Hi,
I recorded ND2's midi out into Live and Bitwig, had some rudiments in my pattern, that I could not get played back correctly, notes seem to overlap or be missing.
I don't understand where is the limit / problem, during the recording I hear the rudiments played correctly, and after I finished, when I look at the midi clip, there are notes missing, and of course it does not sound similar when I play it back.
Any idea, advice or clue to solve this will be very welcome.
F.

Re: ND2 midi recording, close notes (ratamacue, flam, drag)
I was recording using a closed headphone (DT770), at normal volume, not too loud ...
I could hear and feel my strokes were ok, the stick hit the pad, but ...
The input threshold setting was too high, I was only hearing the stick on the pad, not the hihat itself
Because the threshold setting too high, nothing sound were triggered, hence no midi note were sent.
After I lower the setting I had all my ghost/grace notes recorded into the midi clip
I wonder about about polyphony, for instance does a snare stroke always mute a previous snare stroke ?

Hi,
Glad you got that sorted
The abrupt muting when retriggering is not perse realistic
A real drum responds more complex I think, I wouldn't describe it as polyphonic. Perhaps depending on the drum, on when and how hard you strike it the second time (etc etc) sound can be partially muted, or can build. I think Roland's 'supernatural' system tries to mimic this behavior more realisticly.
I usually try to change Decay and Dec Lo settings (I think Off usually works best) to match it with your playing style, tempo
Best,
Albert

Yep, I have to adapt, that behaviour is quite expected / logical according to the specs (6 voices, 1 per channel, and 1 osc + 1 click + 1 noise per voice).
It sounds great
I tried using the delay (repeat) to artificially make sound last longer.
I added some external effects as well, jus a little bit of reverb, that helps.
It makes me think of first Nord Leads (no effect).
