Hey All,
We're just about to play a gig tonight and my luck seems to have abandoned me. Before I
packed up my rig this afternoon everything worked fine. Now, during soundcheck I've been unable to
drive the ND2 with Patterning via an iConnectMIDI unit. Patterning 'sees' the interface, every channel is set correctly both on the ND and in Patterning, still no MIDI in. Tried with Nord Beat as well, also
to no avail. Also restarted every device multiple times, tried 3 MIDI cables, no luck. The ND works
fine with the Nord Pad, so the problem seems to be MIDI related. So there won't be
MIDI controlled ND this time but would love to know asap what the problem could be. Hope I won't have to
hard reset the unit because with no MIDI sync I can't backup my kits. Any
hint or advice will much appreicated.
Thanks, Gabor

Not sure, I bet you know your way around in all MIDI settings
Could it be this:

MIDI clock on the MIDI input while booting the ND2 makes it deaf to MIDI,
make sure the ND2 is on before whatever is connected to the MIDI in that might send a MIDI clock signal
not sure,
good luck!

Re: ND2 lost MIDI in
Thanks a bunch Albert, will test this when I set up my rig back at home tomorrow...well, it's already tomorrow, so later today. Indeed, I may have had the OP1 synth sending MIDI while trying to make the ND2 work, and like always when I'm about to play live, I was high on adrenaline and also pissed off about MIDI not flowing, etc., so I can't recall what exactly I did or didn't do. As a matter of fact, last time I played live the same thing happened to me, well, kind of, because then I lost MIDI to thw ND after the soundcheck, when I went back to play. During soundcheck it was OK, then put the iPad to sleep and when I woke it up the ND2 wasn' t getting any MIDi. Anyways, tonight's gig went really well, and man, the Nord Drum just sounds mindblowing on bigger sound systems. In a couple of tracks I didn't even use sticks, just my hands.wartaler wrote:Not sure, I bet you know your way around in all MIDI settings

Re: ND2 lost MIDI in
Run a quick test and the ND2 is now happily receives MIDI again, after I made sure I powered it up before setting the sync and the other devices. Thanks again Albert!
