Hi together
I really don't find any explanation, but when I use my ND2 with the iPad app nordbeat, always when a channel is used, channel 6 is playing too. When I use the nord pad, always is OK, but with the nordbeat channel 6 is always playing.
How can I switch of this "function"???
Thanks a lot and Heavenicetrip! Fe/2

Re: ND2 hits always channel 6
Hi,
In Nord Beat midi setup, channel 6 has its distinct note number ?

Hello
Yes, the MIDI notes are;
#6 69
#5 67
#4 65
#3 64
#2 62
#1 60
The MIDI channel is 10
I can also change the #6, but this has no effect...

Hello,
Maybe Ch.6 is matched to global channel. Did you try turning off the midi channel for Ch.6?
Cheers

Re: ND2 hits always channel 6
Yes, maybe you accidentally set the individual MIDI channel of Channel #6 to MIDI channel 10
Channel#6 of your ND2 will then respond to any note sent on MIDI channel 10, so everything from all 6 tracks of the app is sent to Channel#6...
Make sure that the individual MIDI channel of Channel#6 is set to off: [Ch.OF]
(or at least different from MIDI channel 10)
Cheers,
Albert

Re: ND2 hits always channel 6
No, the MIDI channel for Channel#6 ia 69 like in the nordbeat app. And the global channel is 10, So everything is the same like in the nordbeat sequencer app.
Or is there another channel I missed?

Re: ND2 hits always channel 6
Hi!
There is global MIDI channel [GL 10], (factory setting is 10), and MIDI note 60, 62, 64, 65, 67, 69 (factory settings)
that's properly set up in your Nord Beat app and ND2, as you mention
BUT you can also set an individual MIDI channel [Ch xx] for each of the 6 channels of the ND2, this is a different MIDI setting, just repeat pressing [shift] + [MIDI] until you see [Ch.xx] (where xx is a value between 1-16 or OF).
Example of use: when you set MIDI channel 5 [Ch. 5] on channel #1 of your ND2, and connect a MIDI keyboard to your ND2, you can actually play melodies on your ND2! (the output MIDI channel of your keyboard also has to be 5).
Another example: when you have a beat set up in your sequencer (eg cubase, not the Nord Beat app), and you want to create a slow filter sweep on the snare drum sound only (!). Noise filter frequency can be controlled with MIDI CC 14. You can use the individual MIDI channel function to control the filter on just the snare drum sound ..
But there is no need to set individual MIDI channel(s) when you're only using the Nord Beat app... best to switch it off..
What I mean is that you maybe accidentally set MIDI channel 10 as individual MIDI channel on channel#6 of your ND2,
To check this: press [shift] + [MIDI] on your ND2 until you see [Ch.xx], (xx is a value/OF), then go to channel#6 on your ND2, the value for xx should be OF (off)- (or any value EXCEPT 10)

Re: ND2 hits always channel 6
Wow, thanks for this deep explanation, I see there is still more possible with the ND2 than I know
And you're right, the Channel#6 was on Ch.10, so I set it to Ch.OF. And now everything runs fine
