Drum kit to use

Postby RamenJammin » 14 Mar 2013, 21:07

Would the Alesis Percpad 4 pad work with the NordDrum?

Im looking to use something that isnt very large, easily portable

And Im guessing that a MIDI to USB cable would hook up to Logic without issue.

Hey there fella!
Apart from other sequencers I have had a great deal of fun using the Alesis Percpad via it's midi to play the Nord drum. I'd say the only thing missing is a pedal for the kick which you would have to buy separate.
Using a velocity sensitive surface opens up great subtle nuances and will undoubtedly lead to other avenues in your music production.
The Percpad is cheap, portable but the onboard sounds are totally pants. Not a problem though as the Nord sounds great, literally takes about 40 seconds to set up!
Go for it man!

I'll confirm that Logic records and plays back MIDI to / from ND as you'd expect it to.
I'm using an AMT8, but have no problems sending / receiving MIDI info from my Alternate Mode DK10, RS7000, or PK6.
I'd surmise a properly configured MIDI interface will perform as well for you.
